Jim Dukhovny, the CEO of the business, said the certification "will be our next step." 

Alef Aeronautics is the first firm to receive the FAA's Special Airworthiness Certification.

Before taking off, the vehicle must pass safety requirements set by the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration.

Alef Aeronautics hopes to start delivering flying cars to clients by the end of 2025.
