1st Method: Use Password Reset Disk To Reset Windows 10 Password
Using this method, you can create a Password Reset Disk for your Windows device which will store your user passwords. Its main benefit comes when you forgot your password and unable to recall it and looking for an easy fix.
This Password Reset Disk allows you to create a new password which you can use to log in without losing any data. The only downside of this method is that you need to create a recovery disk before you lost your Windows 10 password.
Follow these steps to set up your Password Reset Disk
Step 1. Go on your system and attach an external USB drive.
Step 2. The next step is open Control Panel on your device, and to do this type control panel on your search bar and click on Open.
Step 3. Search for User Accounts tap on it.
Step 4. Click on Create a password reset disk and you will see Password Wizard. Click on next.
Step 5. In the next step, it will ask you to choose an external drive and hit Next.
Step 6. Go on your External Drive and you will see your Password backup Key. Keep it save and it will save you when you forgot your password.
Step 7. Now Restart your device and on your log in screen click on Reset Password option, and you will see Reset Password Wizard will appear.

2nd Method: Log in with Command Prompt
Step 1. Turn off your system by pressing the Power button, and while it will Restarting press the Power button to turn it off and Restart it. Do this 2-3 time to open Automatic Repair window.
Step 2. You will see Automatic Repair Window with two options, First, one is Reset and the Second one is Advanced Options. Click on the second option.
Step 3. In the next window, you will click on Troubleshoot and then click on Advanced Options.
Step 4. Then in the next window, you click on the System Image Recovery option.
Step 5. You will see one prompt message for Reimage Your Computers click on Cancel and then move forward.
Step 6. Then click on Next and then click on Advanced option (see image). You will see two options on your screen.
Step 7. Click on Install Drivers option and it will prompt a small window with some information Click ok and it will redirect you to System 32.
Step 8. Next step is to open your D drive for this click on This PC
And click on the D drive.
Step 9. In D drive click on Windows search for System 32. Click on System 32 and then search for Utilman. Once you find it click it and Rename it to Utilman12.
Step 10. Now search for CMD file. Click on it at Rename it to Utilman, and refresh the page. In the next step click on the cancel tab and exit from all windows.
Step 11. You will redirect to this page (see image) now click on Continue option. Your system will restart and ask for the user password.
Step 12. Click on Ease of Access icon (see image) and it will open the command prompt.
Step 13. Type control passwords2 command in the command prompt and hit enter. You will see a window popup on your screen, now click on Reset Password and enter your New Password and confirm it and then click ok.
Now go on your home screen and enter your new password. Boom you are logged in and can access your system.
3rd Method: Password Reset Tool For Microsoft Live Account
Most of the people are using Microsoft Account for login their Windows device. So, if you forgot your Microsoft account password, you just need to use another device to visit the Windows Live password reset page. It is a Windows official link using which you can reset your password. It is easier than other methods as well.
Step 1. Click on the given link and you will be redirected to Microsoft official website to Recover your password.
Step 2. You will see Recover Your Password window and need to enter your Phone number or Skype name or Email id then click Next. After that they will ask you to verify your identity and to do this, they will send you a security code.
If you have that mobile then click on that option and then click on next and Microsoft will send you security code which you need to enter in next window and after that they will verify your credential and allow you to login your device and if you don’t have it then click, I don’t have any of these.
In the next window, you will see the Recover Your Account page. You need to fill in all the details and in Where should we contact you enter an email id which you can access now. Microsoft will send a security code on it.
Then they will ask you some more questions about your account, answer them and click on Next.
After you click on Next you will see a small message window like this (see image) now check your email account and enter the security code and click on verify. After this Microsoft will take 24 hours to verify your identity and give you access.
4th Method: Reset Windows 10 Password Using PCUnlocker
Remembering the password is not a piece of cake and that why it’s quite obvious that people forgot their windows system password and stuck with the locked pc, don’t worry you can use PCUnlocker to unlock your Windows system and reset the user password.
To use PCUnlocker you first need to download it on a different device. You can borrow your friend and family system for this process. Also, it’s not necessary to use windows devices only you can use Mac if you have it.
You have two option to choose between a CD or USB. For this process we are going to use USB as an external device, don’t worry the process is the same for both the devices.
1. So, first, we download the package of PCUnlocker and save it on our system. It is a self-extracting .zip archive file. Click on it and Extract it. After extracting you’ll get two files pcunlocker.iso file and readme.txt.
2. In the next step, we will download ISO2Disc Burner Utility which will burn the disc. ISO2Disc is free software and it is fully compatible with all devices.
3. After installing ISO2Disc launch it, then click on the Browse button to locate your downloaded ISO image file, after that select Burn to USB Flash Drive option and from the dropdown select your drive. You will select Burn To CD/DVD if you are using a CD drive.
4. The next step is to tap on Start Burn to begin burning disc. This might take one to two minutes.
Boot from USB to Change locked Microsoft account to local account
1. Plugin the PCUnlocker USB drive to your locked computer/laptop. Then press Boot key.
Note: Boot keys can be different for different devices. Press (F2 or F12 or F10 etc.) to access the Boot Menu and then go to boot and choose Removable drive. You will click on the CD drive if you are using a CD. To save the settings hit F10 and exit the window.
2. Now your Windows system will restart from PCUnlocker USB flash drive.
3. Select the SAM database file from the dropdown as it stores all the password of the windows user.
4. Then select the target user account, like we have selected the Administrator account, and then click on the Reset Password button. Then click Yes to confirm your action, and you will see a successful Reset Password message.
5. Now click on the Restart button on your screen. And after the restart, you can log in to your system without any issue.
